Bikini Weather!

Cloudless Sky. Steady 15-knot wind in 85 degree temperature. No wonder I was so mellow at the helm. I let the crew to decide on the strategy. In the short windward leg they wanted to stay outside the kelp. With the swim buoys yanked by the Harbor authorities, I wasn't trusted to keep Das Boot off the rocks. That's the only rationale I could extract from this decision. However, I will recall that no other boat went up, through Kelp Straits. In this pursuit race, we caught & passed two boats on the first reach and were not passed. They tell me we took a 6th place. Hard for me to believe we deserved it. Didn't matter to me. All I cared about was being out on the water and partying ashore afterwards.

  1. No shots of the bikinis? Switch & cut bait! No truth in advertising here?

    1. Bikinis on paddle boards were so numerous as to constitute real navigational hazards. But our photographer, JJ2, didn't think they merited a single focus. I'm just glad he caught that Star boat on the way out of the harbor as we were coming in. Haven't seen that babe out in a blue moon!

    1. Now that I am back, I miss London. I miss the quaint flat at No2 St. Charles. I miss the umbrellas walking along the narrow broken sidewalks, inches away from the automobile traffic moving on the wrong side of the streets. I miss the Tube and the surface trains. I miss the card games in the pub. I especially miss sitting in stadiums crowded with singing, cheering and jeering fans. But, I cannot go back. All I have left in tangibles are some hats and a scarf. And hundreds of £'s! Don't want to turn those back in, do I?
