    1. I thought they said they were shutting down the government to try and stop Americans from getting access to affordable health care. I know that sentence doesn't make any sense. None of this does.

  3. What pisses me off is that the term 'Tea Party' evokes such hateful rhetoric, when the Boston Tea Party was one of the more important events of the American Revolution. We all now enjoy freedom we may not have had, had the British folk remained in power. I'm embarrassed by our WHOLE government today and have been for a good long while, for being such f'in babies about issues that should have been so easily agreed upon and resolved. We are still the greatest country on earth, but we still, after 237 years, have so damn far to go.

    1. Good point. I fear the brand "Tea Party" is forever damaged. At least for me, those words will always conjure up images of angry white people waving confederate flags at the black man in the White House. So ugly.

    2. Yes. These contemporary fools equate the government you and I vote for as the King of England. And then they pose for the brand of 'patriot'.

  4. I need to write my congressman and one republican senator and thank them for voting to end this idiotic thing and to remind than that many of their constituents, in fact support the affordable Health Care Act. At least here in the not so frozen north I actually have met and spoken with all three of the dingbats we've sent to DC -- a benefit of living in a state with a population smaller than many California cities

    1. Melt, I don't know who your Congressman is, but I can vouch for him to this extent: he wasn't elected from a Gerrymanded district.

  5. For a caption, I think I would have to go with Schadenboehner.

  6. I'd caption the picture but the whole suicidal situation is frankly just too damn bizarre.

    1. "Suicidal Situation" pretty well sums it up, Beach.
