Clippers Are Finishing from Across the Pond!
Don't be looking for Vigilance: she's still on the rocks of Scatarie Island where I left her during the last Leg.
I'll be updating Open Container III's standings on the leader board as the Leg progresses. Racers who comment on these pages will have their boats added. (Click chart to enlarge image!)
Notice the determined emergence of Gilliano into the top 5,000. Gilliano, who usually beats me on the real water, was notified of the start two days late. What a comeback!

Please include my boat? Thx!
ReplyDeleteYou got it!
ReplyDeletePlease add my yacht?
ReplyDeleteGerry, you will have to attain 4,999 (or below) before your boat appears on this chart.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up Doc? You've taken a dive! A big one!
ReplyDeleteYa, Vlad! I overslept! Lost 200 boats in that blink of my eyes.
ReplyDeleteAnd what are doing here? You should be watching the World Cup. USA is tied after the 1st half. If we don't win in the next 45, we're losers!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a dog in this fight.
ReplyDeleteYour dog already lost this fight.
ReplyDeleteLooks like great fun, need to get in on the action
ReplyDeleteVlad, you should stick to MLB, which is really all you can handle. Leave futbol to the big dogs.
ReplyDeleteOpen Container III has taken a double dip and lost 200 more boats. Is this the point where my crew turns on me? But I've got this concept ... And I want to stick to it? Maybe not so much....
ReplyDeleteYikes! Now I see all my mistakes !
ReplyDeleteNice presentation - have you thought about adding a flash/shockwave visual? Nice idea...
Capt. Dave
I'm still losing places, same old, same old !! Tomorrow is another day...
ReplyDeleteYes Paula and we lose some more.:-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like y'all are tying a four-boat knot for second place for our group. I'd like to be a fifth, but I'm too busy bouncing up & down around 12,000! Time's running out, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteI've had a more than agreeable 24 hours, but Companion is hanging right with me. He has a radically different angle from mine coming in to the finish, so he's dangerous.
ReplyDeleteBut you are coming on strong, too, Gerry!
I'm curious as to how you selected this group of 'boats of interest'?
ReplyDeleteMost of these are drawn from the few good Western Hemisphere boats. The two exceptions are boats who were friendly adversaries from the last Volvo around the world (VORG). Because 1100hrs & 2300hrs PDT are weather changes, geographical location was a 'one-design' consideration.
ReplyDeleteWell, anyways, you turned in a good result for this race.
